Film about police brutality to premiere in N.M.
Tuesday, August 19, 2003

"Cowboys and Indians: The J.J. Harper Story," a film about the shooting of an Aboriginal man by a Canadian police officer, will have its world premiere at the 2003 Native Cinema Showcase in Santa Fe, New Mexico, this week.

J.J. Harper was killed in 1988 in Winnipeg. Inquiries showed that the police tried to cover-up their involvement.

Norma Bailey, a Canadian filmmaker, will premiere the film on Thursday. Another showing will be held Friday.
