Workers in N.M. find Indian bones in dump
Wednesday, August 20, 2003

Workers clearing an illegal dump in Roswell, New Mexico, found ancient human remains and pottery shards dating back to 1200 A.D.

The artifacts contained markings that show they were handled by scientists. Officials from the Roswell Museum and Art Center believe they were excavated in the 1930s from a Puebloan site. They say some may have been thrown out in the 1940s.
