Indian filmmakers take craft to reservation youth
Thursday, August 28, 2003

The American Indian Film Institute is bringing Native films and filmmakers to Indian Country youth this summer.

Reservation youth in California and Washington are getting to learn more about the movie business through the institute's Tribal Touring Program. Jack Kohler, a Yurok, Hoopa and Karuk actor and filmmaker, and Ian Skorodin, a Jewish-Choctaw director, act as mentors to the students.

The institute is based in San Francisco.
