Editorial: Bustamante on the take from Indian gaming
Friday, August 29, 2003

California Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante "is just another politician on the take from special interests, especially the gambling industry and its Indian tribe shills," The Sonoma Index-Tribune says in an editorial.

The paper says a Bustamante administration will mean free reign for tribal casinos. "He is owned by that lobby and will do whatever they want," the paper says.

The paper doesn't think any of the candidates in the recall election will do a better job than current Gov. Gray Davis (D). "But there is no doubt that it will be worse if Bustamante gets in," the paper says.
