Navajo Nation authorities have charged three tribal members with counterfeiting $50 bills.

The three men allegedly printed up the bills and used them to purchase goods at several businesses in the Four Corners area. Some merchants recognizes the bills as fakes and one alerted police.

The men face federal charges in addition to the tribal charges.
