Oneida Nation officials seek lobbying exemption
Thursday, September 11, 2003

The Oneida Nation of Wisconsin is asking for an exemption from the state's lobbying registration law.

State and municipal officials are already exempt. The tribe wants the same treatment for its governmental officers.

The Forest County Potawatomi Tribe is claiming a similar exemption for the state's hotel tax. State and municipal officials are exempt from the tax if on official business.
