Man. government funding Native language effort

The Manitoba government is awarding $73,000 to the Aboriginal Languages of Manitoba, a non-profit organization whose goal is to preserve Native languages.

Seven main Native languages are spoken in the province: Cree, Dene, Dakota, Michif, Inuktituq, Ojibwe and Oji-Cree. The organization will use the money for dictionaries, grammar books, translation services and language lessons.
