A Navajo Nation council committee has approved the creation of a private enterprise for The Navajo Times, the tribe's paper.

The Navajo Times Publishing Co., Inc. would be seeded with a $500,000 investment from the tribe. Publisher Tom Arviso, Jr. says the tribe will see a return on its investment.

The paper is published weekly.
