Oneida Nation fighting development of land
Thursday, October 2, 2003

The Oneida Nation of Wisconsin is resisting a lawsuit seeking to force development of land the tribe owns.

The tribe owns 372 acres of a 490-acre industrial park in the village of Hobart. The village wants the tribe to comply with local laws but the tribe is claiming it can't be sued without consent.

The suit is before a county judge, who has refused to dismiss the case, saying he doesn't have enough information.
