Thursday, October 2, 2003

The University of Minnesota has launched a new program aimed at helping Indian students graduate.

The American Indian Cultural House launched this fall. Ten students, mostly freshman, are participating, and most live together in a dormitory. They have formed study and support groups with an emphasis on Indian culture.

The university is spending $10,000 a year on the program. The school has 49 freshman with Indian ancestry.
