Tribes donate to anti-gaming senator's PAC
Friday, October 3, 2003

Four tribes with casinos donated $42,000 to the political action committee (PAC) of Sen. Sam Brownback, a Republican who has fought gaming.

According to The Lawrence Journal-World, the donations to Brownback's Restore America PAC Inc included $25,000 from the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana, $10,000 from the Tigua Tribe of Texas, $5,000 from Saginaw Chippewa Tribe of Michigan and $2,000 from the Mississippi Band of Choctaws.

Brownback formed the PAC to elect Republicans and has funneled money to Republican candidates. A spokesperson said he didn't know why the tribes donated so much money.
