Washoe Tribe worried about impacts of freeway
Friday, October 3, 2003

Members of the Washoe Tribe of Nevada are worried about a $260 million freeway project that would run through their backyards.

The tribe has met with the Nevada Department of Transportation's project engineer but its concerns haven't been addressed, the tribe's general counsel said. Tribal members who live in what is known as the Stewart community say they would be walled in by the freeway.
