Senate committee sets hearing on BIA nominee

The Senate Committee on Indian Affairs has scheduled an October 22 hearing for Bureau of Indian Affairs nominee Dave Anderson.

Anderson was nominated by President Bush last month. He is the founder of the Famous Dave's chain of barbecue restaurants.

Anderson needs approval by the committee before heading to the Senate floor for final confirmation.

A witness list has not been announced yet for the hearing.
