House committee taking testimony on self-governance

The House Resources Committee is holding an oversight hearing today on tribal self-governance.

The witness list includes Clifford Lyle Marshall, chairman of the Hoopa Valley Tribe of California; Sue Masten, chairperson of the Yurok Tribe of California; Fred Matt, chairman of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of Montana; Melanie Benjamin, chairwoman of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe of Minnesota; and Jacob Moore, a special assistant for the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community of Arizona.
