The inquiry into the death of a Native teen in Saskatchewan heard testimony from police officers on Tuesday.

Raymond Pfeil was an acting staff sergeant with the Saskatoon police at the time of Neil Stonechild's death. He says he recommended that the case be investigated by the Major Crimes unit twice. The police department's official explanation is that Stonechild's death was an accident.

Pfeil says he kept meticulous notes on the case but now his notebooks have gone missing. A retired officer said he destroyed his notes while another retired officer says he can't find his notes either.
