Supreme Court turns down non-Indian hunting case
Friday, October 10, 2003

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday refused to hear a case challenging a ban on non-Indian hunting on Montana's reservations.

The Montana Supreme Court in December 2002 said it was legal to deny hunting to all but tribal members. Sandra Shook, a non-Indian represented by the Mountain States Legal Foundation, claimed the ban was unconstitutional.
