First Nations seek investigation into pipeline deal
Wednesday, October 22, 2003

The wife of a top Canadian official staked mineral claims affected by a $3.5 billion natural gas pipeline, CBC News reports.

The mineral claims aren't worth much but the Deh Cho First Nations are calling for an investigation by the Royal Canadian Mountain Police. The grand chief says the process has been tainted and the path for the proposed pipeline must be redrawn.

The path cuts through claims staked by the wife of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency official.
