First woman to head Navajo Nation Supreme Court

Claudeen Bates Arthur has been confirmed as the first woman to serve as the Navajo Nation's Supreme Court Chief Justice.

Arthur has 29 years of experience in law. She has served in numerous capacities for the tribe.

Arthur replaces the retiring Chief Justice Robert Yazzie.
