Calif. tribe looking for land to restore reservation
Friday, October 24, 2003

The Guidiville Band of t Pomo Indians in California is looking for land to restore its reservation.

The tribe is eyeing a 430-acre parcel in Solano County. The tribe wants a reservation to establish a casino and hotel and convention center, but also for homes, a school, an elder care facility and a clinic.

Once the tribe purchases the land, it will ask the Bureau of Indian Affairs to take it into trust. The tribe already has 44 acres of trust land.

The tribe was terminated but had its status restored as a result of litigation.
