Daily aspirin may raise risk of cancer in women
Tuesday, October 28, 2003

Women who take an aspirin a day may raise their risk to pancreatic cancer, according to researchers.

In a study of 88,000 nurses, those who took two or more aspirin tablets a week for 20 years or more had a 58 percent higher risk of pancreatic cancer than those who did not.

Researchers said there are still benefits for women to take aspirin, including prevention of heart attack and stroke, but that more studies are needed to confirm the risks.
