Two resign at Navajo Nation's Washington DC office
Friday, October 31, 2003

There are personnel problems at the Navajo Nation's Washington, D.C., office, The Farmington Daily Times reports.

Two employees have resigned and Navajo council delegates have met with employees to discuss the problems. The concerns apear to stem from new director Sharon Clahchischilliage, a Republican whom Navajo Nation President Joe Shirley Jr. appointed to run the office.

Shirley said he supports Clahchischilliage and said that any problems at the office were due to employees "who abandoned their positions or resigned on their own because they did not want to take direction from the director and they failed to carry out their duties."
