Mich. student won't wear 'Chippewa' outfit to games
Monday, November 3, 2003

A Central Michigan University student says he will no longer wear a costume he made to support the school's Chippewa team.

Jared Parko, a freshman, donned a breastplate of macaroni, war paint and feathers to two games. He was asked to leave a recent game after spectators complained.

The school's nickname is the "Chippewas" and is sanctioned by the Saginaw Chippewa Tribe.
