Makah Nation provides access to secluded beach
Thursday, November 20, 2003

Getting to the Shi Shi Beach in Washington is a bit easier now thanks to the Makah Nation.

The tribe recently opened a one-mile trail to the secluded spot, located in the Olympic National Park. Hikers still need to traverse some hard ground, but they have been flocking in droves. The tribe has sold more than 2,000 annual passes, costing $7, in August and September.
