White rancher in Neb. arrested by tribe's police
Friday, November 21, 2003

A white rancher who is accused of mismanaging Indian land was arrested over the weekend by the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska.

According to The Omaha World-Herald, Kim Knecht got into an altercation with the tribe's police on Saturday night. He was accused of trespassing, which he denies.

This isn't the first time Knecht has gotten into trouble with a tribe. In October, he allegedly rammed his tractor into a car carrying two Omaha Tribe officials. He has been charged in federal court with assaulting a federal officer.
