Inquiry into teen's death hears from ex-police
Monday, December 1, 2003

The inquiry into the death of a Native teen in Saskatchewan, Canada, heard from two former police officers last week.

Jim Madden was an officer at the time of Neil Stonechild's death in 1990. He said he heard rumors that two colleagues, identified as Constables Bradley Senger and Larry Hartwig, may have been involved. Madden later went on to become mayor of Saskatoon.

David Scott was the chief of police during the investigation of Stonechild's death. He testified that he feels the police's original investigation was not thorough.

Stonechild was 17 when he was found dead in a remote field.
