Ex-KBIC chair who served jail time joins race

A former chairman of the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community in Michigan who served jail time for bribery and tax evasion is entering tribal politics again.

Fred Dakota wants a seat on the tribal council because he opposes a tax agreement being negotiated with the state. He says it could destroy tribal sovereignty.
