THURSDAY, MAY 9, 2002 A nemesis of Navajo Nation President Kelsey Begaye was endorsed on Wednesday. A school board in Utah voted 3-1 to keep the Red Devil mascot of Springville High School. Begaye had urged the mascot be rejected, saying the Devil was offensive to Native Americans. In a non-binding referendum, students, faculty and community members overwhelmingly supported the Devil.
