Editorial: Support treaty meeting

MONDAY, MAY 13, 2002 In an editorial today, The Sioux Falls Argus Leader praises several Dakota tribes for meeting recently to address treaty, land and other issues. The paper says it is too early to tell whether the meeting was a success. "Just making the effort, though, is a good step," the editorial states. The East River Dakota Treaties Council is being established to identify shared tribal concerns, including land rights, sacred sites and reservation boundaries. Get the Story:
