EPA to restore pollution standards

The Environmental Protection Agency is revoking an exemption granted to farmers in California who were allowed to skirt provisions of the Clean Air Act.

The exemption allows farmers to operate machinery without complying with air pollution standards. Environmentalists sued and the EPA has agreed to settle by reinstating the requirements.
