Okla. tribe seeks trust land

MONDAY, MAY 20, 2002 The Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma is seeking 250 acres of trust land for a $100 million casino project. The tribe might start construction later this year, depending on the speed at which the Bureau of Indian Affairs acts. A local county will get $10,000 a year for five years if the application is approved. Get the Story:
