Lingering questions over a California tribe's multi-million dollar partnership with a museum have delayed approval of the deal, The Los Angeles Times reports today.

About 200 members of the Pechanga Band of Luiseño Indians took part in a three-hour discussion about the project, the tribe's spokesperson said. Their concerns might lead to a reworked agreement.

The deal with the Southwest Museum is considered crucial to the institution's survival. The tribe would provide more than $20 million over 20 years to construct a new facility on its reservation.
