The Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity are closing their ministry on the Tohono O'odham Reservation in Arizona.

The sisters said there aren't enough women joining the convent. But they also point to tribal members taking over church roles, which they have encouraged.

The ministry was formed in the 1920s. It will close in July.
