Student forced to remove 'black' braids

MONDAY, JUNE 4, 2002 A 15-year-old student in Utah was told to remove her braids after a teacher told her to stop trying to "act black," Rolly and Wells report today. Amber Goodman removed her hairstyle during a lunch period when a vice principal told her it was a distraction. She is white but her mother is African-American. Get the Story:
