THURSDAY, JUNE 13, 2002 Secretary of Interior Gale Norton has ordered any employees with fire certification to report for fire duty. According to The Denver Rocky Mountain News, Norton said the department in particular needs "[e]mployees with aviation, operations, logistics and finance backgrounds." Fires rage in the Southwest and Southeast, where tribal crews have been sent. Norton's home state of Colorado is particularly threatened. Get the Story:
