THURSDAY, JUNE 13, 2002 "In Gail Ellen Daly's May 28 article, "Band trying to prove its place in history," the Mohegan Tribe of Indians of Connecticut Tribal Chairman Mark Brown is quoted: "In 1993, just prior to federal recognition, we tried to locate anyone who could show, through genealogy, they had common ancestors."
