The mid-year session of the National Congress of American Indians is underway in Bismarck, North Dakota.

The theme of the session is "Creating Our Own Roads To Success: Strategies & Skills To Achieve Tribal Economic Prosperity." A number of seminars focus on economic development on reservations.

Trust reform remains a highlight with tribal leaders and Department of Interior officials giving an update on progress of a task force this morning. Secretary of Interior Gale Norton will host a national consultation, open to the public, tonight.
