Clinton to attend Mohegan ceremony

FRIDAY, JUNE 21, 2002 Former President Bill Clinton will attend a ceremony today at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut. Clinton signed the law which settled the Mohegan Tribe's land claims and established the reservation. The move paved the way for the casino, which is finalizing a $1.1 billion expansion. The tribe applied for federal recognition through the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The tribe was given a negative preliminary finding that was later reversed. Get the Story:
