Nipmuc tribe has hope on federal status

One Nipmuc tribe in Massachusetts is working to reverse a negative decision on its federal recognition request.

The Chaubunagungamaug Band of Nipmuc were turned down by the Clinton administration in January 2001. Assistant Secretary Neal McCaleb affirmed the decision last September.
