WEDNESDAY, JULY 3, 2002 A six-year-old girl whose father is charged with her murder was the subject of a tribal investigation into foster care abuse, The Daily Oklahoman reports today. The paper reports that an unnamed tribe investigated the allegations in 1997 but a tribal court later dismissed the claims. Melissa Ellison was in tribal foster care for six months that year. The paper reports a total of six investigations involving Melissa, whose father Michael Ellison is charged with her death. Get the Story:
