Indian gaming has brought benefits to tribes in Washington and Idaho, The Spokesman Review says in an editorial today.

"Gambling may not continue forever but the economic boost is helping today and will help build a stronger future," writes Jackie Van Allen for the editorial board.

The paper cites examples of how tribes are turning gaming profits into other economic ventures. There are some negative aspects of gaming, the paper admits, but says education can help problems like compulsive gambling.
