Chiapas migrants struck by lightning

MONDAY, JULY 22, 2002

A dozen migrants, including a group of Indians from the Chiapas region of Mexico with little Spanish and English skills, were struck by lightning last week as they were entering the United States.

The men, most from Mexico but others from countries unknown, were sitting under a tree when lightning struck. Four men, believed to be from Chiapas or Central America, died.
