Navajo ranchers on Monday were able to unload some of their livestock at an auction sponsored by the Navajo Nation.

The tribe is subsidizing the auction to help defray costs for the ranchers. Each owner was given $70 for a horse, 10 cents a pound for each cow or bull up to 700 pounds. Buyers were given two bales of hay for a horse sold or three for a cow or bull.
