FRIDAY, JULY 26, 2002 The Senate on Thursday confirmed 15 presidential nominees after the White House brokered a deal with Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.). McCain was holding up votes on nearly 90 nominees over a dispute affecting the Securities and Exchange Commission. He wanted to ensure a Democrat he supports would sit on the panel. Get the Story:
