R.I. tribe welcomes slot machine delay

The Narragansett Tribe of Rhode Island is praising the delay of a vote to expand video slot machines at non-Indian gaming facilities.

The tribe has sought to open a casino and needs voter approval. But the State Legislature delayed action on the tribe's initiative by creating a commission to study gambling.
