Norton promotes geothermal energy

FRIDAY, JULY 26, 2002 Secretary of Interior Gale Norton was in Nevada on Thursday to visit a geothermal plant. Nevada has 12 geothermal plants, which generate energy by harnessing underground heat. Norton is expanding the available public land for such projects by opening up 80,000 acres for leasing. Get the Story:
