Tribal ranger's work strikes a chord

FRIDAY, JULY 26, 2002 Leland Thomas comes to the Casa Grande Ruins National Monument in Arizona to work in the bookstore. His familiarity with tribal history ended up landing him a job as a seasonal park ranger. Thomas, a member of the Tohono O'odham Nation, is widely praised by visitors for his tours of the monument. But he also has started working with tribal members to preserve the tribe's connection to the site. Get the Story:
