THURSDAY, AUGUST 8, 2002 Navajo Nation representatives and New Mexico lawmakers met on Tuesday to discuss water rights and a proposal to build a water pipeline. The tribe's water rights in the San Juan Basin have been litigated for years. A Navajo attorney believes a $20 million survey would help settle the issue.
