The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut a federal permit for a major fishery project.

The tribe plans to put fishing equipment in federal waters. Local fishermen and boatmen raised objections and said the project would hurt their access.

The original plan was scaled back but the Corps said there would be "minimal impact" on the environment.
