Cherokee tribal member joins court

A new member has joined the highest court of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma.

Stacy Leeds, a tribal member, was sworn in to last month to the Judicial Appeals Tribunal. She is one of three judges on the court and will serve for six years.

Leeds is also a professor at the University of North Dakota and is the director of the school's Northern Plains Indian Law Center.
