TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 2002 Applications for graduate programs at the University of Arizona jumped nearly 20 percent this year. Some are drawn to the school's American Indian studies program, which now offers a doctorate. The student body increased by 5 percent but still lost 700 students to other universities.
